Priamos.org is my new, centralised, application development environment. Open source code can be downloaded for free and facilities are provided for users to submit, download, rate and discuss contributions. It has been established to better manage my projects.

The domain name was chosen following an attempt to create a recursive acronym: Priam Repository for Information, Applications and Modifications.

In Greek mythology, Priam (Greek Πρίαμος, Priamos) was the the last king of Troy and father to many children.

The website is now open (27.09.2007).

A recent visit to the sf.net website revealed a new layout which led to my reading more about the services and facilities available, in far greater depth than I had ever done previously. I was pleasantly surprised and quietly impressed with the flexibility on offer. It is quite acceptable to register a project at the idea stage without any obligation to use all of the service features.

Harry Fuecks poses an interesting question in the sitepoint blogs: “How do I provide my sites visitors a single signon to my forum / wiki / blog / gallery etc.?”. The article provides an overview of key considerations and references a gallery 2 (G2) paper by Andy Staudacher. The G2 paper ‘describes these aspects, possible obstacles and solutions’.

There are no formatting options available, so it will be interesting to see=
how this turns out.
It’s midnight. Will the timestamp be accurate? Is there a cron job running =
to receive this from the mailbox? If so, how long before this appears?=
